Customs in Uzbekistan
At dinner, the owner begins to smoke or is permitted to do so with his permission.
Usually smoke outside.
There is an unwritten rule in Uzbekistan that you should thank the master for his delicious food, for his charming feast and for his greetings to his guests.
A toast is given to the friendship, cooperation, master and family of the people when they drink the wine.
After the oral toast, you should meet all the guests and drink all the wine in the glass or bowl of "piola", especially when you're a toaster.
If a lot of guests are present, you can only touch the cup with someone close to you.
Another characteristic of the Uzbeks is their great sense of humor.
Most Uzbeks like to tell jokes, and if you make a joke in a toast, they like it.
Tea is provided by the owner (coffee is not very popular in Uzbekistan but can be provided if requested).
The master will personally pour a third of your bowl (the Uzbek tea cup).
The less the tea, the faster the cooler.
This is also a tribute to guests in hot weather.
The guests took Piola with their right hand and left hand said "Rakhmat" (thank you).
The Uzbeks will always accompany you home or try to convince you to stay the night.
This is part of the hospitality shown by Uzbeks.
If you need to leave early, explain it to the owner for a reason.
Don't leave the table too soon.
Before leaving the table, the master, or usually the oldest person on the table, will say some words of success, peace and friendship in the hope of cooperation.
Sometimes prayers are held at the beginning of a meal.
If you're the oldest on the table, you can pray or you might be asked to pray.
Pilav is usually prepared to celebrate special events such as weddings, excisions of sons or funerals of someone.
Only men attend this morning party.
Failure to respond to the invitation was regarded as impolite.
There is no need to bring gifts, but the dress must be properly dressed, and the clothes should not be too colourful and tieless.
Morning osh is between 6 and 7 a.m.
Approximately 200 persons will be invited, depending on family and place of residence.
The guests sat in turn, arrived, sat, and at the same time ate some food, and then left.
No wine, no toast.
Don't smoke on the table.
If you live in Uzbekistan for a long time and have many friends, you might be invited to two or three families in the morning! There is no doubt that if you take part in these activities, you will be impressed by your Uzbek friends.
I'm sorry
