Practice methods and precautions for yoga

1. Yoga is suitable for practicing on an empty stomach. It is best not to practice for 2 hours before and after eating. If you feel particularly hungry, eat some liquid food (such as milk) or a small snack half an hour before practicing yoga.

2. Dress should be easy and comfortable, with free movement, and easy for stretching, lifting and bending of the body. Remove belts, jewelry, glasses, etc.

3. Practice barefoot, sit, lie, and kneel on a mat or carpet. Do not practice on smooth ground to avoid sprain your body.

4. Breathe through your nose and keep breathing even and stable.

5. When practicing, you should concentrate your attention and experience each movement and the internal feelings of your body carefully.

6. Do what you can, don't deliberately compare with others, and just reach your limits. The focus of yoga practice is on the process rather than the result.

7. If you feel exhausted or unwell, stop practicing and close your eyes to adjust your breathing.

8. Try to keep the movements as permanent as possible during practice, and the body will gradually become soft and elastic.

9. Do not take a bath within half an hour after practice to avoid cold air intrusion and affect the practice effect and health.

10. Take a break for half an hour after practice before eating. It is best to eat fresh vegetables, fruits and soy products, eat a small amount of meat, and don't overeat. At the same time, it is not advisable to eat fried, grilled, and irritating foods, and eat less desserts, colas and other drinks.

11. Women should not do handstands during periods. They can do some waist exercises gently. Other movements should be completed slowly and do not exceed the limit.

12. People with a history of mental illness and sequelae of meningitis should not practice yoga.

13. It is not advisable to practice yoga immediately after serious illness or surgery to avoid recurrence of the disease, muscle strain, and body strain.

14. Don't practice after drinking. (Internship Editor: Shi Yixiong)
