Heron Pose Yoga

Sanskrit name: Krounchasana

English name: Heron Pose

Chinese name: Heron Style

Krouncha means heron and is also the name of a mountain. The mountain is said to be the grandson of the Himalayas, crossed by the sixth incarnation of the war gods Kartikeya and Vishnu. In this position, one leg is bent backward and the foot is pressed against the hip joint. When the other leg is raised vertically upward, grab the foot with both hands and place your chin on the raised knee. The raised legs are like the outstretched neck and head of a heron, or can also be regarded as cliffs. This is why the posture is named.

cultivation technique

1. Sit on the ground with your legs straight forward

2. Bend your right knee, move your right foot backward, place your right foot on the right hip joint, with your toes facing back, and place it on the ground. The inside of the right calf touches the outside of the right thigh, and the knees are as close as possible

3."Exhale" Bend the yoga cover for your left knee, hug your left foot with both hands, and lift your left leg vertically upward

4. Fully extend your left leg and straighten your back. Hold this position for a few breaths and then "exhale" while your head and torso are forward, try to bring your left leg closer to your body and place your chin on your left knee

5. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds and breathe deeply. When your chin is resting on your left knee, keep your right knee on the ground

6."Inhale" Lean back your head and trunk, put down your left leg, loosen your hands, straighten your right leg, and return to the first step

7. Repeat this posture on the other side (Internship Editor: Zhang Xing)
