India registers patent on yoga poses

According to reports, India has registered patents for nearly 900 yoga postures to prevent European and American yoga and fitness companies from plagiarizing patents.

reported that the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has recently completed the compilation of nearly 900 yoga patent formats, and its "Traditional Knowledge Digital Library" will include these yoga postures. The next step is to take legal action against yoga postures that have been patented abroad.

These nearly 900 postures are all from yoga classics such as the Yoga Sutra and the Bhagavad Gita written by Batangali.
