Introduction to yoga for pregnant women

good for health

During about 30 years of teaching yoga, I noticed that "yoga moms" were not as "paunchy" as other "expectant moms." What's going on? Balancing yoga connections improves lymphatic circulation so that the lymph vessels do not get shorter or thicker. "Yoga moms" never have to worry about getting puffy (fluid retention) and swollen joints. Their muscles are strong and strong and will not relax; their bodies will not be troubled by cellulite and will not over-expand yoga; the endocrine system (hormone control system) is well regulated and will not be overweight. They are also different in other details. Although these differences are invisible, they can be detected. Between words and deeds, they have an elegant posture and full of confidence, which often attracts the envy of others: "Dear, you are so energetic." In contrast, other "expectant mothers" find it difficult to bear heavy burdens, become increasingly bloated and weak, giving people the impression that they are simply different-although they are pregnant, they seem to be carrying a heavy burden, exhausted, and depressed.

lasting results

The effects of yoga practice can last longer. Some of my students now are the sons and daughters of the first batch of students. Compared with their peers, these young people are more vibrant. They have flexible bodies and quick thinking, but many of their friends are not like this. This is really impressive. No one can tell how much of this is due to the yoga practices of mothers when they were still in the womb, and how much is due to the healthy culture they grew up. These young generations practice yoga out of love, not responsibility.

after pregnancy

Now I want to warn that if women's bodies lose vitality during pregnancy, they may not be able to recover: this is what many women worry about in the later stages of pregnancy. Seeing that their bodies expand like balloons and their beautiful bodies in the past had disappeared, they tried their best to restore their vibrant bodies and their former luster. If you don't want to have back problems such as hypertrophy of hips and legs, varicose veins, abdominal laxity, sagging breasts, constipation, hemorrhoids, urinary diseases, uterine droop, and bulging discs, or lack of self-confidence, depression and depression, then practice yoga during pregnancy. In this way, the chances of recovery after childbirth are much greater. In addition, after giving birth, you must see an orthopedic doctor or a massage therapist for a check-up to avoid long-term damage to the spine or pelvis.

The process of pregnancy will inevitably drag down pregnant women and make them concentrate on pregnancy. However, this self-compulsion may turn into obsession with the baby. I have seen too many women lose their interest, creativity, and even their individuality in the process of giving birth to children. This forced possession is unnecessary. It is not a prerequisite for being a "good mother", nor will it make a bad "good mother". Yoga practices, especially daily self-observation exercises, can teach you how to play your role in fertility. As Gibran made a wonderful conclusion: "Your children are not yours. They are children born of life's own desire. They are born by you, but not by you. They are your companions, but not your subordinates."
