Yoga meditation that teaches you beauty and health preservation
Indian-American physicist Maharrish combined ancient Indian yoga (equivalent to meditation in my country) with the unified field theory in modern physics to create a new method of self-regulating the body and mind-transcendental meditation, which is popular among the world. "People learn to enter a state of transcendental consciousness, their hearts become calm, their thoughts become productive, and they can send brisk and coordinated waves to the environment," he said. Scientists have conducted experimental research on this method and found that when the human body is sitting quietly, the muscles of the whole body are relaxed, the heart rate, breathing and brain waves are slow and highly orderly, oxygen consumption is reduced, the basic metabolic rate is reduced, immune function is enhanced, and the whole body is small blood vessels relax, adrenaline and other tension hormones in the blood decrease, the cerebral cortex is in a protective inhibition state, the synchronization of cortical functions is enhanced, and the coordination and unification of neural functions are important for strengthening the body, It is quite beneficial to prevent and treat diseases and delay aging.
To practice meditation, we should promote Guo Moruo, a giant in my country's literary world. Lao Guo studied in Japan in 1914. Due to his nervousness in study and excessive use of his brain, he developed severe neurasthenia. He stayed up all night and was listless all day. Various treatments were ineffective. In 1915, he accidentally bought the Complete Works of Wang Yangming, a Confucian scholar of the Ming Dynasty, in a second-hand bookstore. There was a chapter on "Sitting in meditation". Lao Guo practiced it every day. After two weeks, a miracle occurred: he fell asleep all night long, his dizziness and palpitations disappeared, his memory returned to normal, and his stubborn disease was cured. Therefore, the young Lao Guo conducted a textual research on meditation and traced back history. He believed that meditation originated from the two ancient civilizations of the China and India.
Since ancient times in my country, meditation, breathing, qi movement, pressing on stilts, qigong, etc. have all been inseparable from meditation. Its originator is probably the famous health practitioner Peng Zu in ancient times, who was later introduced to Confucianism. According to the "Biography of Liexian":"Peng Zu was a palace doctor. During the summer to the end of Yin Dynasty, more than eight hundred years old, I often ate osmanthus and was good at guiding and performing qi." Of course, over 800 years old is an extremely exaggerated legend, but there is no doubt that he is an elderly birthday boy.
Indian meditation yoga is a school of ancient Indian philosophy. It also sits with closed eyes, relaxes the whole body, controls breathing, and achieves a state of tranquility. In my country, sitting, forgetting and singing are the same.
Guo Moruo pointed out in his article "The Kung Fu of Sitting in Meditation":"In the Song and Ming Dynasties, Confucianism paid great attention to the martial arts of sitting in meditation. Most commentators thought it came from Zen, but I think it originated from Yan Hui, a disciple of Confucius, because there is a saying in Zhuangzi that Yan Hui sits and forgets (that is, sits quietly)."
This is indeed the case. Not only Buddhists and Daoists advocated meditation in order to achieve enlightenment, ancient Confucianism also attached importance to meditation, believing that "tranquility can produce wisdom." It also made meditation a required course in Neo-Confucianism, and even required disciples to study for half a day and sit quietly for half a day to understand reason. For example, Zhu Xi, a great scholar in the Song Dynasty, warned his disciples: "When sitting quietly and cultivating, the main thing is to observe and understand the truth."
Practice has proved that sitting still has a good effect on preventing and treating neurosis, headache, insomnia, hypertension, coronary heart disease and eliminating psychological disorders among mental workers. Recently, it has been suggested that sitting still also has the cosmetic effect of enhancing digestive functions, cold resistance and moisturizing skin.
Specific practices for sitting still: Sit on a chair, bed or sofa, with your thighs flat, your calves straight, your feet apart, relax your belt, your head and neck straight, your chin slightly retracted, your back straight, your shoulders droop, your whole body relax, your eyes closed, your tongue pressed against the upper palate, your hands crossed on the abdomen, your thumbs on the navel, and your palms under the navel, and then eliminate distracting thoughts (It is difficult to eliminate it at the beginning of practice, but distracting thoughts will gradually disappear in the future, so don't act too hastily.) Actively adjust abdominal breathing, try to slowly inflate the lower abdomen as much as possible to inhale deeply, and then slowly exhale to return the abdomen to normal. At the same time, concentrate your consciousness on the palm under the navel (on the Dantian point), so that you can achieve the "three combinations" of regulating the body, regulating the heart, and regulating the breathing, and enter a kind of selfless nothingness that seems to be something or something, as if you are sleeping but not sleeping. State, this is the so-called "tranquility", which will make your whole body feel very relaxed and comfortable. Generally, it is done twice a day in the morning and evening for 30 minutes each time. After the end, rub the heat with your hands and massage your cheeks and eyes to activate your blood and blood. At this time, you feel refreshed and your body is light, as if the human body's internal functions have been activated and burst out, which can play a role in strengthening the body and eliminating diseases.
Sitting quietly is one of the methods of health preservation. Its role is to calm down and nourish the heart. It also needs to be combined with other exercises to play the role of exercise to nourish the body, so as to achieve the purpose of alternating dynamic and static activities to nourish the body and nourish the heart. Instead of eating all day, sitting still and doing nothing. Let me conclude this article with a passage from Lao Guo: "Sitting quietly is really effective in cultivating. I very much agree with friends sitting quietly. We use meditation as a means, not meditation as a purpose. It is not inconsistent with enterprising spirit." (Internship Editor: Wu Jinyu)
