America's magical man-made geyser-Nevada's "Flying Geyser"
Flying Geyser) is a small geyser in northwest Nevada, United States. It is the most colorful geyser in the world. The bright colors it displays make tourists feel bright and sigh with the magic of nature. The spring is located on Fly Ranch, 32 kilometers north of Graak, Washoe County. It is currently on private property. Many organizations want to buy the farm to protect the fountain and open it to the public, but they have been rejected.
Moreover, the flying geyser is not formed naturally. It was accidentally erupted from a geothermal test well in 1964. Since then, hot spring water has been continuously sprayed out, and calcium carbonate in the water has been deposited around it all year round, forming a small mound. Thermophilic algae live on the mound. Make the mound appear beautiful red and green.
The flying geyser is a model of the unique beauty created by human transformation of nature. The flying geyser has a very bright color because it contains a large amount of minerals and several bacteria that like to live in hot water.
A well drilled in 1916 opened a "convenient door" for ultra-hot liquids deep underground to rush out of the ground. The well was abandoned because it could not be used for irrigation. Over time, mineral-rich water that continues to pour out slowly forms a series of mountain-like cones and forms terraces and ponds in the vast area below them.
Because the flying geyser contains a lot of minerals and several bacteria that like to live in hot water, it looks very bright and eye-catching under the sunshine. The geyser is growing in size and popularity, and organizers of the nearby Burning Man Festival are trying to buy the Flying Farm, including part of the geyser.
