Australia's "ANZAC Festival"
The Battle of Gallipoli, also known as the Battle of the Dardanelles, was one of the most famous battles during World War I and the largest landing operation of the time. The "Allies" led by Britain and France successively sent 500,000 soldiers to the Gallipoli Peninsula in the Dardanelles Strait and fought fiercely with the German and Turkish coalition forces of the "Allies". Both sides suffered heavy casualties. 130,000 soldiers were killed on the "Allies" side, and 210,000 soldiers were killed on the "Allies" side.
