They will review five applications for inclusion in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Urgent Need of Protection and 37 applications for inclusion in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity Representative List" items.
The committee will discuss issues related to intangible cultural heritage in emergency situations such as conflicts or natural disasters.
The committee will focus on the methods to protect intangible cultural heritage in such situations and the role of heritage in ensuring social integration and promoting reconciliation.
The Convention has been in force for ten years, and the Committee will also study the establishment of a monitoring mechanism to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the Convention.
The "List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Urgent Need of Protection" includes heritage that is now very fragile or disappearing and whose protection is imminent.
Currently, there are 43 items included on the list.
This list mobilizes signatories to the Convention and the international community to work together to ensure the inheritance of these cultural practices while respecting local communities.

The Intergovernmental Committee for the Convention holds a meeting every year to discuss the implementation of the Convention and review applications for inclusion in different lists.
