The protection of intangible cultural heritage (hereinafter referred to as "intangible cultural heritage") is to ensure its vitality and achieve sustainable inheritance and development.
As the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage carriers, he grasps and carries the knowledge and skills of intangible cultural heritage, and also shoulders the important task of carrying out inheritance work and cultivating successor talents.
On the basis of the traditional "teachers lead apprentices" inheritance method, incorporating inheritance into the modern education system and cultivating inheritors of the new era with both theoretical knowledge and superb skills is a new proposition put forward by the development of the times for the cultivation of intangible cultural heritage talents, and it is also an urgent need for inheritance and development.
At the seminar, participants actively discussed issues and countermeasures for cultivating intangible cultural heritage protection talents.

Over the years, relying on the strong faculty of China Academy of Art and the professional strength of China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage International Training Center, the Graduate School, as an implementing institution of art education, has actively pioneered and innovated, vigorously carried out postgraduate academic education and training in intangible cultural heritage, and achieved remarkable results.
In terms of training goals, China Academy of Art conducts direction division and target positioning, accurately focusing on the training of three types of talents: first, academic doctoral and master's students in the research direction of intangible cultural heritage protection, focusing on cultivating their theoretical research capabilities by writing degree thesis; Second, Master of Arts in both directions of protection practice and traditional skills.
The former focuses on cultivating their practical ability to carry out protection and management work in accordance with national policies, and the latter focuses on cultivating their creative ability to inherit traditional skills; Third, the trainees of the training class, mainly aimed at the on-the-job personnel of the national intangible cultural heritage protection system, quickly improve their management level in a short time by means of classroom learning and investigation and exchange.
In terms of course structure and teaching methods, China Academy of Art attaches great importance to the close integration of theory and practice, classroom and on-site, courses and topics, and lectures and practical exercises.
It requires students to not only learn and master the basic theories involved in intangible cultural heritage, but also master laws, regulations, principles and policies in professional fields, and also gain an in-depth understanding of the current status and cutting-edge trends of intangible cultural heritage practice through field visits, investigations and interviews, and participation in projects.
Since taking the lead in cultivating senior talents such as masters and doctoral degrees in the country in 2007, China Academy of Art has also used its academic resource advantages and faculty advantages to continuously innovate methods for cultivating intangible cultural heritage talents.
It is the first to hire representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage projects and masters of arts and crafts as postgraduate tutors.
This move has effectively incorporated one-on-one master-apprentice transfer into the modern academic education system, and has been welcomed by the society and widely concerned by the industry.
