What are the types of obesity in women?

Normal women's subcutaneous adipose tissue is richer than that of men, especially in the breast, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. The plump adipose tissue in these parts constitutes the unique physical beauty of women. The development of subcutaneous fat in women makes them prone to obesity, which is related to genetic characteristics.

There are several different methods to classify the types of obesity. Generally, women can be divided into the following categories:

Bundle obesity-Fat accumulation areas are mainly distributed in the back, lower abdomen, hips, buttocks and thighs, similar to the body shape of people with obesity reproductive incompetence syndrome.

Greater trochanteric obesity-Fat is mainly distributed in the trochanteric and trochanteric regions of the femur, breast, abdomen, pubis and other parts. Postmenopausal obesity mostly belongs to this type.

Lower limb obesity-the fat storage area runs from the hip down to the ankle, sometimes limited to the legs and ankles, such as progressive lipodystrophy, resulting in extreme obesity in the lower body and extreme emaciation in the upper body.

Upper limb obesity-Fat is mainly distributed in the back, arms, breast, neck, face and other areas. Obesity caused by adrenal cortex hyperplasia, tumors and pituitary basophilic tumor Cushing's disease belongs to this type.

Hip obesity-Fat mainly accumulates in the buttocks, resulting in special hypertrophy of the buttocks. It is a characteristic of certain ethnic groups and belongs to a genetic disease. Some combine breast fat accumulation, forming a huge breast obesity type. (Internship Editor: Zheng Yanjun)
