Dadi Shui Nationality Township is located in the southeast of Leishan County, at the junction of two prefectures, four counties and six townships. It is adjacent to Tashi Township and Sanjiang Township of Rongjiang County in the east, and Wubu Township and Yangfu Township of Sandu Shui Autonomous County in Qiannan Prefecture in the south. It connects to Yahui Township of Danzhai County in the west, Yongle Town of Leishan County in the north, and 86 kilometers away from the county seat. In 1992, Dadi Shuiwu Township was established with the approval of the Provincial People's Government (Dadi Township was founded in 1913 in the second year of the Republic of China). It is one of the 17 ethnic townships in the prefecture and the only ethnic township in Leishan County.

Dadi Shui Nationality Township has rich and colorful festivals. There are festivals such as the Year of Melon, Spring Festival, Gongmi Azhao Dragon Festival, April 8, Dragon Boat Festival, July 1, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival and other festivals. The Year of Melon in the ninth month of the lunar calendar every year is the most solemn festival in the local area. The hospitable aquatic compatriots prepared roasted fish, steamed pumpkin, Chongyang wine, and glutinous rice to welcome the arrival of guests from afar.
