Criteria and hazards of obesity

Relevant experts from the Obesity Research Society of China Society of Health Science and Technology pointed out that obesity has scientific standards, and the calculation formula for standard weight is: height-100X0.9 = standard weight KG. Generally, more than 10% of body weight is normal, more than 20% is mild obesity, more than 30%-50% is moderate obesity, and more than 50% is severe obesity. The emergence of obesity will cause great harm to the human body. Our body cannot withstand obesity. So, what harm does obesity have to various parts of our body and what diseases does it bring?

Our lungs When a person gains weight, the lungs must deliver more oxygen supply. However, the lungs do not grow correspondingly due to the increase in weight. In addition, the fat in the lower abdomen will also limit the breathing activity of the lungs. If anesthesia surgery is performed, the risk will be relatively increased. As for asthma patients, if they are obese, the problem will be even more serious.

Our high blood pressure mostly occurs in obese people. High blood pressure may lead to brain stroke, kidney degradation, and varying degrees of damage to heart and other organs. Therefore, patients with overweight and high blood pressure must carry out appropriate weight loss plans.

Our Heart When a person gains weight, the heart must work harder to supply nutrients to all organs in the body. The heavier the weight, the greater the load on the heart. Therefore, the frequency of heart disease in obese people will be higher than that in ordinary people.

Our arteries accumulate too much blood cholesterol and blood fat on the arterial walls, which can make the blood vessels smaller or even rupture them, leading to stroke or heart attack. Studies have shown that obese people have a very high risk of developing atherosclerosis.

Our liver The liver is one of the most important organs in the body. Long-term alcohol abuse, diabetes, obesity, etc. can cause the formation of fatty liver. If it continues to improve, liver cell necrosis will occur in the long run, which will lead to liver cirrhosis.

Regarding diabetes, diabetes is the patent of almost all obese people. Research points out that in the history of diabetes, diabetes is caused by a high-sugar and high-calorie diet. As soon as 70-85% of people lose weight, their conditions improve. Therefore, only by maintaining an ideal weight and cooperating with the assistance of doctors and dieticians can we eliminate the risk of death.

Regarding pregnant women who are obese during pregnancy and surgery, they can easily cause labor difficulties or prolong the labor time, which affects the health of the fetus. In addition, people with severe obesity are not only difficult to get pregnant, but also have higher mortality rates for pregnant women and fetuses; and because of excessive hypertrophy of muscle tissue, the operation is more difficult to perform.

Regarding malignant tumors, 35% of the malignant tumors ranked first are due to poor eating habits and ingesting too much high-calorie and high-fat foods, causing excessive free radicals to be produced, causing cytopathy to turn into cancer cells. If the joints are too heavy, the body's bones cannot bear the weight, causing joint swelling and inflammation.

Other obese people are huge and often need to put in more physical strength to complete a certain amount of work. In addition, they have slow reactions, are inflexible and agile, and accidents occur frequently. (Internship Editor: Zheng Yanjun)
