List of legal holidays in Senegal in 2018
Islam has a great impact on the lives of Senegal people. Most believers avoid eating pork and drinking alcohol. Eid al-Adha is the most important festival for Muslims at the end or beginning of each year. Eid al-Fitr, Sheep Slaughter Day (Eid al-Adha, which is known as Grand Baski in local language) and the Islamic Murid "Magar Day" are the three most important festivals in the West African country of Senegal. Since Eid al-Fitr, Senegal has gradually gotten rid of the heavy rainy season and entered the peanut harvest season. The harvest of agriculture and animal husbandry has brought money, which has directly promoted the prosperity of commercial exchanges.
Senegal people carry out large-scale shopping every holiday, which can be summarized as "a piece of cloth, a sheep, a trip": wearing newly made "cloth" robes to worship in the mosque; during the festival, no matter how poor they are, they have to slaughter sheep to celebrate; and there is also the most sacred activity for the local people-to go to the holy city of Tuba to worship and offer their most pious donations and best wishes.
January 1 New Year's Day March 30 Good Friday, also known as Good Friday, is the day when Christian believers commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is the Friday before Easter. According to the Bible, Jesus was crucified at about 9:00 a.m. on the 14th day of the Jewish calendar in 33 A.D. and died at about 3:00 p.m. Jesus only commanded His disciples to remember His death.
April 1 Easter Sunday (the Lord Easter Day) is an important Western festival, which falls on the first Sunday after the full moon of the vernal equinox every year. Christians believe that Easter symbolizes rebirth and hope, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion between 30 and 33 AD. If there is an Easter holiday in the area, it is usually celebrated with Good Friday. Today, many Easter related folk customs such as the Easter bunny and Easter eggs are not of Christian origin. Jesus only commanded his disciples to remember his own death (Luke 22:19, 20).

It is said that doors are not closed here at night, no relics are picked up on the road, and there are few traces of modern social construction. The greatest wish of every Murid in his life is to be buried in Tuba. Every year on "Magar Day", millions of believers come for pilgrimage from all over Senegal and other countries in West Africa, forming the largest population movement in the area throughout the year.
