There are 10 taboos for women to practice yoga
Long-term stretching, yoga sports injuries not only cause tendon injuries, but also strain or loosen ligaments, making joints unstable.
How to avoid harm?
blood coagulation disease
1. Avoid practicing yoga for people with blood coagulation diseases. The movements of yoga require positioning and stretching and twisting of limbs. During the process, it may lead to a decrease in peripheral blood flow, which may more easily lead to serious blood coagulation and cause cardiovascular disease.
2. For people with osteoporosis, exercise carefully. Some yoga movements must use limbs such as hands or feet to support the weight of the body. If you have osteoporosis, it is likely that the strength of the core muscles has not been properly trained, resulting in accidental fractures of your elbow while supporting it.
disc herniation
3. For those with spondylolisthesis and disc herniation, excessive bending of the waist should be avoided. Among the most basic movements in yoga,"Sun Prayer" is one of them. Practitioners must bend their waist downward. At this time, people with spondylolisthesis may cause their spine to slip again due to such movements; or people with herniated discs may also cause more severe nerve compression in their lower limbs due to inadvertent bending.
4. It is not advisable to practice yoga in poor physical condition, recovering from a serious illness, and early stages of fracture. Yoga requires a good physical condition to achieve the effect of exercising body functions and muscles. If the physical condition is not good and the muscles, joints, and ligaments cannot exert strength, you will be easily injured when practicing yoga.
No yoga for an hour after a meal
5. Do not do yoga for one hour before and after meals. The movements of yoga require the body to bend and twist, so do not do yoga within 1 hour before and after meals. It is best to reduce the amount of food you eat before doing yoga to avoid increasing the burden on your stomach.
6. Emotional fluctuations should not be practiced yoga. Yoga is a sport that must be coordinated by both the body and mind. If your muscles are tight when you are angry, anxious, or nervous, it is best not to practice yoga to avoid injury. Only by practicing yoga when your muscles are soft can you be healthier and safer.
joint pain
7. After a few classes, I feel sore joints and tendons, which may not be suitable for practicing yoga. Some people are born with poor body softness, but yoga trains the body's softness and muscle strength to extend. If joint pain or tendon inflammation occurs every time after practicing yoga, your body may not be soft enough and is not suitable for yoga movements.
8. Pregnant women should be careful when practicing yoga. Although there is now a so-called maternal yoga for pregnant women, it refers to people who have practiced yoga for a long time. If they have never practiced yoga in normal times, it is recommended that they practice it only after 12 weeks of pregnancy after the doctor evaluates that the pregnancy is in good condition.
high myopia
9. For people with high intraocular pressure and high myopia, it is not recommended to stand upside down on the head and feet. Bending forward or standing upside down will increase intraocular pressure, so it is not recommended to practice yoga for people who already have high intraocular pressure and high myopia.
epilepsy
10. Epilepsy, cerebral cortex damage. Many yoga movements involve stretching to the neck. If you have epilepsy or cerebral cortex damage, bending forward and leaning back to massage the stretching of the neck may induce seizures.
If you want to avoid sports injuries, remember to have any problems, stop at any time, and ask your teacher. If a certain movement is difficult to reach a standard posture, don't be too reluctant. It may be that your body is not ready yet. Don't practice yoga with a comparative attitude. Yoga is a deep feeling of the individual, and everyone's understanding is different.
