Real shot of African desert gardens

Located in the remote northwest corner of South Africa, Namaquaran is one of the most extraordinary regions in the world and one of the most unusual deserts on earth, and is loved by botanists and tourists. There are nearly 3000 plant species growing in this arid land, the vast majority of which are not found anywhere else on the planet.

When spring comes, this semi-desert area suddenly magically turns into a dazzling sea of flowers. It is said that this spectacular view can make you "cry twice while visiting Namaquaran, first time when you arrive, and second time when you leave..." However, this sight can only last for two months, or even less. Flowers are often very sensitive to temperature, and flowering ends when temperatures fall below 17 degrees Celsius in coastal areas. When summer comes, Namaquaran will become barren again-as if the previous sea of flowers were just a short dream...
