Yoga Posture: Children's Posture

Yoga Posture: Children

Practice:

This resting position mimics the fetus curling around the mother's fetus. It gently stretches and massages the back, and is also often used as a resting position between poses. Kneel on the ground with your feet closed, your feet facing the sky, and your hips resting on your heels. Stretch your upper body forward and gently press your forehead on the ground to relax your body. Place your arms on your sides, palms up, fingers back, and elbows and backs of your hands flat on the ground. Hold this position for about 15 seconds to 2 minutes, while closing your eyes and resting.

Benefits:

* Gently massage your back, crotch, thighs, ankles and heels. * Relieve mental tension and eliminate fatigue.

Notes:

* If you have diarrhea, knee pain, or pregnancy, please avoid doing this position. * If sitting on your heels makes you uncomfortable, add a piece of felt between your thighs and calves for cushioning. (Internship Editor: Long Weiquan)
