English folk story: a shirt story

once upon a time, in a distant country, the king was very ill.

all the doctors in the court visited him.

despite the best efforts, the king ' s condition has not improved at all, but has worsened.

later, they became desperate and had to bring in a distinguished doctor from abroad.

he looked at the king's condition and said seriously, “your majesty, there is only one thing that can save you!” the king asked, “what if you can save me, whatever you want, i can give you.” the doctor said, "no! i mean, you just sleep in a happy man's shirt and your body will recover." so the king sent two ministers to find a happy man.

if you find it, bring his shirt back.

so they first found the richest man in the city and asked him whether he was a happy man.

the richest man said, “happy? i can't predict if my boat will be in trouble tomorrow, and thieves always try to come to my house.

how can one be happy with all this trouble?" later, the two ministers found the next chiefly after the king's house, and they asked, “are you a happy man?” he said, “don't be silly! a foreign man is trying to invade us, a villain is trying to take my power, a servant wants to raise his income, and a rich man wants to pay less, and do you think that being an aristocrat is a happy man?” they have travelled all over the country and never found a happy person.

the two were tired and sad and had to go back to the palace.

while they were here, they saw a beggar sitting by the road, with a pile of fire, with a long-stamped pan of sausages, cooking, and singing proudly! so he went up and he said, "look, you're happy!" and the beggar said, "of course, i'm happy!" and the two ministers were so happy that they couldn't believe their ears, they said, "friends, we want to borrow your shirt at a high price!" "sorry, gentlemen! i don't have a shirt!"
