Wonderful yoga lecture by Zubin, disciple of Master B.K.S. Iyengar (2)
Question time:
Question: What if we don't have so much time to do yoga every day? Answer: Find time so you have time. You don't have time, which means that you have never really fallen in love with yoga. Let you have time first. Second, I understand that you like yoga but you still don't have the time. So if you have time, study first, and then practice. First, you have to find time to study. If you sit for a long time all day, your legs will get tired. When you get home, you can do this exercise (Lu Yi demonstration: Lie down on your back towards the wall, stretch your legs up to 90 degrees, rest your legs against the wall, and spread your hands out to your sides). If you stay in this pose longer, your spine will relax and your body will be nourished by fresh blood.
Question: What poses are suitable for depressed people? Answer: Wheel on the chair. How are you seeing Lu Yi's breasts? The chest is open. If you can't do wheel, there are very simple ways to do it. Question: Iyengar said that our body is our first instrument. How do you understand? Answer: We are born with our bodies, not clothes. Question: There is a saying in Iyengar yoga, A line, how to understand it? How to become a straight line? How to coordinate? Answer: There is no way for every part of the body to be a straight line. For example, straighten your arm, what is a straight line? When you look at this straight line, what you see is the connection of joints and muscles. Can you feel the muscles of your arms when you stretch your arms out? So I said in the morning that we should not do poses for the camera. When I am doing asanas, it is not just the harmony and unity of the body, but every organ of the body, every nerve and every cell of the body are combining. When so many of us sit together and straighten our arms, you feel that it is actually your entire arm that is straightening out. Do you feel that the straightening of your forearms and upper arms is the same? Are the forces the same? So this becomes a straight line. For beginners, when doing each pose, they can touch every point on the body. When you are doing asanas, you have to look at where your hips are and where your spine is. So what line? Everything is a balance. When you stand, see where my head is and where my feet are. In Shanshi, you are straight, so you understand this truth. But when bending backwards, where is the straight line? So you can't simply understand line as a straight line, but connect and combine. Every part of your body is connected together, just like stringing beads.
Question: What is the difference between Extension and Expansion? Answer: Extension is the extension of the body, and Expansion is the extension of the body, such as the extension of the spine. We have different poses, some are used to lengthen the spine, and some are used to widen the spine. For example, a twisting posture widens your spine, and an extending posture widens your spine. Zubin used a fan to demonstrate. Question: I like some asanas, but some asanas I don't like. What should I do? Answer: First of all, yoga is not ice cream. Some people like the flavor of vanilla and some people like the flavor of strawberry. Her problem is that I like some poses, I don't like some poses. The best answer my teacher gave me is that yoga does not allow you to practice based on your likes and dislikes, but allows you to find reality within. So the purpose of yoga is to find reality, not to like it or not. There is no choice in finding the truth. This is the most important thing in our lives. In life, some people say I like to sleep. Yoga allows you to reach perfection, so you have to decide whether to do it or not. This is the answer I will give you. I have to stand in this hall from 7 a.m., whether I like it or not, why? Nothing else, but that I came here for yoga. Question: I am an ordinary worker. I have very little money. I like yoga very much. I admire it. How can I start practicing yoga from the basics? Answer: You can come and learn. If you can afford it, you can come to India to learn yoga, and I don't charge you anything. Question: My confusion in practicing yoga. I feel nervous when doing advanced poses and have difficulty relaxing. How should I achieve a relaxed state? Answer: What does it mean to relax? Now when we say relax, people's understanding is to calm down the mind. This is incorrect and incomplete. For example, what do people do in China to relax? Smoking, drinking, watching TV, singing karaoke. When they do this, they think they are relaxing, their nerves are relaxing, but are they actually relaxing? This relaxation is just the relaxation of one part of the body. For example, when they are sitting like this (sitting loosely bent), your mind may relax, but your spine is in pain. When you are doing the plow pose, your spine is actually relaxing. When your legs are tired, especially if you are a manual worker, sitting like this (sitting in heroic pose) will make you relax. Yoga has more than 300 poses that relax every part of your body. This relaxation will not occur at the beginning. Maybe you're doing it too gently, and you wouldn't do it in my class. After every part of your body has gone through this process, then we lie down and do yoga breaks to relax your body, mind and breath. So this pose is the most advanced relaxation exercise. Fifteen minutes of asana equals 1 hour of deep sleep. Because when doing rest, you relax consciously, you know what your body is doing, what your breath is doing, and what your mind is doing, but when you go into deep sleep, you don't know what happened to you. You are still unconscious. This relaxation is measured, and your body, breathing and thoughts can all be measured. When you are relaxing, your body, breathing and mind are all measured to relax. This relaxation won't happen at the beginning, you need to practice more. Feeling unable to relax when doing difficult poses means you are not ready yet. You jumped to a doctorate from the first grade, so you haven't gone through the intermediate steps yet. Find your teacher to help you find the process. Doing advanced poses requires all parts of your body to be prepared to do it. Many people do it casually, but your body is not ready to endure it, so your body gives you a message that you are not ready yet and you have not listened to it, so you need to do the basics better and more accurately.
