You will gain something by practicing carefully

In the meditation room of Cicada Boat Yoga Studio, Indian yoga master Amit Ayya sits on the floor, wearing a white T-shirt, legs folded into lotus shape, eyes kind and pure. Amit is a lecturer and senior yoga therapist at the Gandhi and Naturopathic School in India. He holds dual degrees in yoga science and yoga and naturopathic medicine, and has won many Indian and international yoga awards. The reporter tried to understand Amit's personal experience, but he declined. He said he did not want to promote himself too much.

Every yoga practitioner has his own understanding of yoga. Some people think that yoga is profound and difficult; others simply regard yoga as a form of fitness. Regarding the former, Amit said that yoga does not require years of practice to gain gains, nor does it require making certain difficult movements or reaching a certain level. As long as you practice carefully, I believe that everyone will gain something; Regarding the latter, Amit pointed out that it is a misunderstanding to regard yoga as just a physical exercise program. Yoga is not only a stretching of the body, but also a spiritual exercise. Yoga can help people calm their impetuous hearts.

Amit believes that the reason why yoga has become a craze around the world in recent years is that yoga can relieve the mental pressure people suffer in the material world, which is more important than exercising. He said: "Anyone can practice yoga. It doesn't have to know a lot about yoga. What's important is to experience and feel it during the practice."

Yoga breathing is important

Many practitioners care about the most important aspects of the practice process. Amit said that yoga places the most emphasis on breathing practice. Breathing is the foundation of life, and breathing exercises in yoga can give good exercise to the heart and lungs. In addition, different yoga movements can exercise all parts of the body and make all organs and tissues stronger. For example, yoga has many stretching exercises that can exercise a person's ligaments and stretch joints. In addition, yoga has many balance exercises, which not only improve people's sense of balance, but also make attention more concentrated.

You don't have to be a vegetarian

Amit has always emphasized that everyone has a beautiful side. Yoga is to help you discover your innermost self, find the love, peace, friendliness and happiness buried deep within you, and learn to express them.

He used his own lifestyle to interpret the word "peace". Despite his high reputation in the yoga world, Amit has always lived a simple life. He said he only works one month of paid work a year and "I only go to work when I need money."

I learned that the jacket Amit was wearing was a gift. He smiled and told him that almost all his clothes were gifts."Clothes are just tools to cover my body for me."

Amit has maintained the habit of being vegetarian for many years because in his view, animal life is as precious as human life. Do people who practice yoga have to be vegetarian? Amit said he encourages yoga practitioners to go vegetarian if he is allowed to advise. However, ordinary practitioners can eat according to their own eating habits without deliberately selecting food and controlling the amount of food. He emphasized that you should not eat spicy and stimulating food, and it is best not to drink soft drinks, but to drink more water.

Finally, Amit reminded the majority of yoga enthusiasts in China that everyone's living habits are different. There is no need to deliberately change your living habits to practice yoga, as long as you feel comfortable. Of course, everything is on a moderate basis.
