Yoga + haha = laughter yoga

Yoga with "haha", or "hasya"("hasya" means laughter in Sanskrit) is laughter yoga. Laughing Yoga, also known as Hasiya Yoga, was founded in Mumbai in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria. After that, laughter yoga quickly became popular with people around the world like sparks. According to reports, there are currently more than 2500 Laughing Yoga clubs around the world.

Dr. Madan Kataria believes that laughter is good for health, so. He and four friends met every morning in the appointed park and told jokes to others every day in order to make everyone laugh. One morning, after the joke, they began to laugh, and even if the others did not hear the joke, they also laughed. Dr. Madan Kataria realized that laughter is contagious, and laughter yoga (or Hasiya yoga) was born.

Laughing yoga is a training that combines breathing techniques from traditional yoga, plus gentle and continuous laughter training, including yoga breathing methods. Its benefits are that it relieves stress and depression, enhances the immune system, improves creativity, and even relieves asthma.

When practicing laughter yoga, you need to laugh consciously and suddenly. It is said that this can relieve stress and be beneficial to physical and mental health.

Pamela Patterson was one of the founders of the first Laughing Yoga Club on Mount Van Couffe. Pam was a yoga instructor who has been in conditioning and healing for 25 years. She first learned about Laughing Yoga in 2004, when she and Dr. Kataria managed several Laughing Yoga venues.

According to Pam,"A training process usually lasts an hour. Start with typical meditation, explain, warm up laughter 'whoo-hoo, ho-hoo, ha-ha, ha-ha', and then a half-hour laughter yoga practice, laughter meditation and basic yoga practice."

Pam believes that "the biggest benefit of laughter yoga is that it gives people the ability to laugh whenever they want to, and even if something bad happens one day, they can laugh easily." Moreover, laughter can indeed quickly improve people's creativity and imagination."

Yoga emphasizes the coordination of breathing. By regulating breathing, focus your attention on one point to achieve the goal of calmness, balance your body, and concentrate your thoughts. The key to practicing yoga well is concentration and meditation. (Internship Editor: Wu Jinyu)
