Introduction to the time and place of action of yoga meditation0

Chapter 6, verse 29 of the Pughavad Gita says,"... Yoga can stop the desire to run wildly, and only then can the desire to run wildly be surrendered." Chapter 6:18 adds,"If a yogi can control his inner activities, eliminate all material desires, and achieve transcendence, then he is the highest state of yoga."

From a psychological perspective, 80% of the behaviors we do occur unconsciously, and one of the advantages of meditation is that it can have an effect on this unconscious area, thereby understanding ourselves and changing our personality.

Our inner dynamics include the conscious actions of the new cortex, the unconscious actions of the old cortex, and the actions generated by our character. Meditation, on the other hand, can have an effect on the personality of the old cortex and easily correct abnormalities.

Experiments have shown that after 8 weeks of meditation training, the brain wave pattern of the experimental subjects has undergone significant changes, from the brain waves when the brain is awake and conscious to the brain waves that dominate during the brain's deep relaxation period. At the same time, the brain's relaxation increases and anxiety decreases.

Living in a modern society that is prone to stress, the best way to gain the natural power to overcome depression is to practice meditation. Depression not only causes inner tension and irritability, but also causes abnormal hormone secretion, weakens immunity, and loses the power to overcome symptoms.

All in all, meditation can improve the stability of the internal environment (constancy) and restore the natural abilities of the body and mind.

Time for meditation

fasting

Being full can easily make people want to fall asleep, so meditation is most suitable for fasting time when the body is pursuing qi.

morning

This is the most energetic part of the day. That is, when the fog clears, the sun shines on the earth, and it is full of vitality and freshness, sit down towards the rising sun horizon and meditate.

Mid-sun

This is the strongest time of day. It can bring the body and mind of fatigue, disease and weakness due to work, and make people feel strong qi.

dusk

When you are looking at the sunset and meditating, you will have a belief in pinning your hope on the rising sun tomorrow. This is an excellent time for your soul to gain comfort.

late at night

Meditation in the still of the night is the best time to calmly review yourself.

A suitable place for meditation

A peaceful place is the best place to meditate, but you don't have to avoid natural sounds. If you can integrate the sounds of insects, wind, waves, gurgling water, birds, etc., it will be the most ideal yoga meditation.

When meditating, relax mentally and choose a place with stable brightness and temperature.

These are prerequisites for practicing meditation at the beginning. Once you make progress, you can do it anytime, anywhere, regardless of time, place, brightness, temperature, etc. (Internship Editor: Wu Jinyu)
