Yoga lets you say goodbye to anxiety
What is anxiety? Anxiety is an unpleasant emotion caused by a person's fear that some misfortune will happen in the future. It is a fear of uncertainty in the present or future.
Many people believe that yoga is the best of the many treatments for dealing with anxiety. In fact, humans have a long history of practicing yoga to get rid of anxiety.
Symptoms of anxiety
Some symptoms of anxiety are similar to those when people are tired. Physiologically speaking, anxiety can cause a person's pulse and heartbeat to accelerate, easily dry the mouth, shortness of breath and sweating profusely. Other symptoms such as diarrhea, phobias, throbbing (rapid and irregular beats), sweating and fainting also occur from time to time.
Some well-known anxiety disorders
In different situations, anxiety shows up in different forms of confusion. Sometimes, due to excessive anxiety, we instinctively and automatically establish some abnormal defense mechanisms. Here are some of the well-known chaos caused by anxiety
Panic attack
Panic is caused by artificial amplification of fear and anxiety. When a panic attack occurs (usually a sudden attack), it usually expresses itself as a beating of the heart, fainting, shortened breathing cycles, shortness of breath, etc. Furthermore, there are three types of chaotic phenomena of panic attacks. The first type is called sudden (unexpected, sudden) chaos, and the second type is situational chaos, especially those that can trigger neural chaos, such as when you are driving.
post-traumatic stress disorder
This will cause those who have experienced severe trauma or suffering in their bodies and experienced extreme events in their lives to be easily troubled by fear. Extreme events such as being raped, threatened to life, experiencing a severe natural disaster, etc. can all cause post-traumatic stress disorder. People with post-traumatic stress disorder are often shrouded in the horror of those extreme events. They are likely to experience insomnia and are easily surprised.
obsessional neurosis
Obsessive-compulsive neurosis is the recurring appearance of strong and irresistible negative thoughts and repetitive behaviors in your mind. Repeated behaviors include: having to check and calculate something over and over again. A more typical example is the common "hand washing maniacs". Their subconscious feels that everything has to be done and verified again.
phobia
Phobia is caused by anxiety, and it is typically expressed as extreme irrational fear of some very common trivial things, common social phenomena, etc. Usually, phobias are caused by a dislike of something.
How does yoga help us overcome anxiety?
It is easy to find that yoga itself is a low-speed exercise that focuses on regulating breathing (making breathing stable and slow). These characteristics are in sharp contrast to all the characteristics of anxiety. Going against it can relieve and eliminate the negative effects of anxiety. Practicing yoga not only lengthens the depth of our breathing, but more importantly, it provides a powerful response to the root causes of anxiety on a spiritual level. Hormonal responses in the blood are counteracted by strong, firm physical constraints. Shortness of breathing and accelerating heartbeat and pulse are smoothed out by a gentle and stable supply of oxygen. Yoga helps the body slow down its metabolic speed.
