Yoga requires the best physical and mental state
Patujali's yoga system includes both spiritual and physical aspects, so Patujali's self must take into account both aspects. In other words, in order to bring people's body and mind to a good state, they must not only gain specialized knowledge, but also engage in yoga. This method of combining knowledge and practice allows people to gain a strong body and maintain the harmony of spirit and body.
Patugali involved both knowledge and behavior, so his method included all the ways to achieve this intended end physically and mentally. These approaches have eight branches (the eight-branch method has been described, refer to previous articles).
Since the eight branches are not comprehensively discussed in the Yoga Sutra, they need to be further elaborated. According to the Yoga Sutra, yoga is divided into four categories:
Wisdom Yoga: Desire control and compliance is a doctrine of gaining specialized knowledge.
Hatha Yoga: Asana and Qi-making, a doctrine of physical practice.
Karma Yoga: A doctrine that restricts behavior.
Wang Yoga: Including inner awakening, meditation and three grinding ground, it is a meditation theory.
It is necessary to make it clear here that not all types of mental illness can benefit through yoga. It is necessary to illustrate this limitation because a person practicing yoga must have the ability to understand yoga principles, methods and thoughts in a mental state, and must also have the conditions in his physical state to engage in even very simple exercises.
If a person does not yet meet these basic requirements physically and mentally, then it will be difficult for him to achieve corresponding results through yoga practice. After understanding this, let's introduce the treatment methods and essentials.
It is recommended that you understand the fundamental meaning of wisdom yoga and karma yoga. Both types of yoga are associated with fellow scholars who gain specialized knowledge and behavior.
These yogas include understanding certain basic concepts, theories, principles and opinions related to self, society, and nature. Understanding these basic concepts will help you understand the causes and development of mental distress, and will allow you to understand what right measures must be taken to achieve self-improvement. These two types of yoga are very important, and you should know something about them while practicing hatha yoga. (Internship Editor: Zhang Xing)
