Eating more foods containing vitamins A and D can prevent obesity

However, at present, humans have not found a panacea for weight loss. Many anti-fat and weight-loss methods are painful and make it difficult for people to persevere. Research in Japan has shown that supplementing vitamins A and D is expected to prevent obesity.

Associate Professor Tsuruo Kawata of the Nutrition Chemistry Research Office of the Department of Food Engineering, School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Japan, drew inspiration from an ancient cattle farming technology in Japan and proposed a new method to prevent obesity with vitamin A and vitamin D.

Since ancient times, the Japanese have a secret recipe for raising cattle. In order to make cattle produce more "pork belly"(beef with fat), they feed cattle special feed, which contains very low vitamin A content. From this, Khoda thought that reducing vitamin A can produce more "five-flower beef". Can it be used for obesity? Associate Professor Khoda's research results prove that vitamin A can indeed inhibit obesity, and vitamin D has the same effect.

How do vitamins A and D inhibit obesity?

Khoda said that when people eat high-fat foods, they are broken down into fatty acids and glycerol by lipase in the intestines, and absorbed by the body. When fatty acids are available in the body, fat cells will differentiate, and vitamin A and vitamin D have the effect of stopping the differentiation of fat cells. Khoda further said that during the process of producing fat cells, the DNA of their precursor cells was copied into mRNA, and then following this information, mature fat cells grew. The start of copying this genetic information from DNA into mRNA is due to the action of fatty acids, but the stop depends on vitamin A and vitamin D.

If the mRNA cannot be copied, of course, mature fat cells will not be produced, and the result will be the effect of preventing obesity. However, Kawada also pointed out that vitamins A and D can only inhibit the increase of fat cells and cannot reduce the number of fat cells that have been produced. Once obese, since fat cells have increased, vitamins alone cannot eliminate obesity. Therefore, it is still difficult to count on using vitamins A and D to lose weight. They can only be effective in maintaining the body's symmetry. In short, consuming enough vitamins A and D necessary for the body is at least beneficial to controlling the development of obesity. For those who are already obese and don't want to get fat again, and those who are worried about future obesity, vitamin A and D supplementation can achieve the goal.

Vitamin A and D supplementation with drugs needs to be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. Excessive supplementation can produce toxic side effects. It is safe and effective through food supplements. Green and yellow vegetables such as carrots are rich in vitamin A in food, while foods such as dried mushrooms and animal liver contain large amounts of vitamin D.
