Yoga helps the elderly work on the thoracic spine
After people enter old age, physical diseases always follow one after another, and it is difficult not to get sick. On the one hand, it is because when people get old, all functions of the body are deteriorating; on the other hand, it is because they don't pay attention when they are young and settle accounts with their bodies when they get old. The author's mother has been troubled by thoracic and cervical diseases for a long time. Although she often does physiotherapy and needle knife in the hospital, it can only relieve the temporary pain and cannot protect the pain. My mother likes to read various medical books. Some time ago, she read in the book that indexer yoga can temper the thoracic and cervical vertebrae. She also practiced it at home, and felt quite good. Here, I will also share with you the indexer style that my mother learned from books.
The indexer style requires the body to lie on the floor to the left, with the knees of the left leg bent, the right hand straightened, the right hand placed on the outside of the right thigh, the left hand bent, and the palm supporting the head. Then inhale, lift your right foot, bend your knees, bring your thighs as close to the ribs as possible, stretch your right hand to grab the tip of your right foot, keep your body on your side, exhale, pull your right foot hard towards the top of your head with your right hand, and don't bend your right hand. Stretch your right leg as much as possible to stretch the leg muscles and costal and abdominal muscles. Finally hold this position, breathe 5 times, bend your right knee and relax, straighten it again, and repeat 5 times. Change to the other side and do the above.
indexer type
In addition to being tempered on the thoracic and cervical vertebrae, it also has three special effects on other diseases:
1. This posture acts on the pelvis, allowing the shapes of the left and right pelvis to open and close equally and return to the normal position.
2. It can also improve the digestion and excretion ability of the practitioner and strengthen the abdominal muscles.
3. It has special effects on treating bronchitis, tonsillitis, cough and other diseases.
However, what you need to pay attention to when doing indexing is not to lean forward when lifting your feet, but to maintain a chest posture, so that you can achieve results. Focusing on your legs will be better. It would be better for the elderly to practice under the guidance of a professional yoga instructor to avoid unnecessary physical harm!
