Zhuang Wa Po Festival

. Starting from the first day of the first lunar month every year, villagers beat gongs and drums to search for frogs. Once they were found, people immediately cheered and ran around to tell each other. Songs sounded in the fields, gongs and drums in the village were loud, and firecrackers were ringing from every household. This is the first stage of "Frog Lady Day","Looking for Frog Lady".

After the frog lady found her, she took it to a special frog sacrifice pavilion in the village. After praying by the frog master, she put the frog into a golden bamboo coffin. Then two people carried the "frog lady coffin" and went door to door in the village to congratulate and bless. When several chanting masters finished reading the greetings on behalf of the frog lady, the host family immediately enthusiastically and devoutly presented glutinous rice, coins, glutinous rice cakes, red eggs, etc. to the frog lady to show their gratitude. In the evening, the frog lady was relocated to the frog sacrifice pavilion, where all the men, women and children in the village gathered here to "watch the spirit" to burn and worship their filial piety, make wishes and pray. This is the second stage of "Sacrifice to Frog Lady".

The end of the month is not yet here, and the frog sacrifice time is long. The old and young people in the village gather here day and night to set up lanterns and tie colors, beat copper drums, and sing folk songs to each other. This is the third stage of the event,"Singing Frog Woman".

At the end of the month, people chose a good place and the right time. After the frog master held the ceremony as usual, under the guidance of the frog master and the elders, the whole village held high flags with five grains and six livestock, insects, fish, birds and beasts, beat gongs and drums, blew suona vigorously, and raised horns to pay tribute to the frog lady's funeral. This is the final stage of "Frog Lady Day" to "bury Frog Lady".

On the day of the frog burial, all men, women and children in all ten miles and eight villages in the Fangyuan area received information. The fields were filled with mountains and fields, and the people were crowded with people, making it extremely lively. At night, the bonfire where the frogs were buried was blazing, bronze drums were playing, folk songs were singing and dancing, and the sky was shining. It was a "carnival night" for the strong family.
