The Republic of Zambia is a landlocked country in south-central Africa. It is named after the Zambezi River and the birthplace of the Congo River. Most of it belongs to the plateau area. It is bounded by the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the north, Tanzania in the northeast, Malawi in the east, Mozambique in the southeast, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia in the south, and Angola in the west. Because copper mines are rich, they are nicknamed the country of copper mines.
