Yoga Physiology-The Role of Chakras
According to the theory of yoga, the human body is composed of five elements: aether, qi, fire, water and earth. and is governed by the different chakras in the body. The seven chakras in the human body control a special part of the body and certain endocrine glands respectively.
1. The first chakra is Muladhara Cakra:
The center of the glands located near the anus is a repository of various physical, mental, and spiritual desires. It controls the solid components of the human body and is related to body health and excretion functions.
2. The second chakra is the reproductive chakra, Svadhisthana Cakra:
It is located in the center of the glands near the reproductive organs. It controls the sexual lines and the fluid components in the body, and dominates human sexual function.
3. The third chakra is the umbilical chakra Manipura Cakra:
The center of the gland located near the navel controls the composition of fire in the body and the secretion of the pancreas and adrenal glands. It dominates our vitality and worldly activities, and controls human energy and digestive functions.
4. The fourth chakra is Anahat Cakra:
It is located in the center of the gland near the heart and controls the composition of gas. It also controls the chest line and lymph glands of the chest. It is related to the body's breathing and circulation functions.
5. The fifth chakra is the throat chakra vishuddha Cakra:
It is located in the center of the gland near the larynx and controls the etheric component and the thyroid and parathyroid, and is related to the function of speaking. At the same time, it also adjusts the body's energy and controls the body's activities.
6. The sixth chakra is Ajina Cakra:
It is located in the center of the brain. It controls the pituitary gland and uses hormones from the pineal gland and hypothalamus to dominate worldly and spiritual knowledge and govern mental functions.
7. The seventh chakra is the top chakra SahasraraCakra:
It is located at the top of the brain. It transcends the scope of biology and psychology, and its functions can only be described in the language of philosophy and spirituality.
The balance of these seven chakras and endocrine glands directly affects people's physical and mental health. Endocrinology is also governed by these seven chakras. Human diseases are also caused by the decline of one of these chakras, or the imbalance of the functions of more than one chakras. The purpose of yoga asana is to strengthen each chakra through stretching and stretching, so that the secretion functions of various endocrine glands are in a balanced state to maintain body health.
The top two chakras dominate purely spiritual functions, while the lower three chakras transmit almost completely bodily functions, and the middle two chakras perform the spiritual activities of the mind and the mind. The higher chakras also control the operation of the chakras below it, because meditation strengthens the higher chakras, making the person's mind more refined, expanded, and better at using the body for subtle and sacred activities. Therefore, a complete yoga course not only exercises the body with yoga asanas, but also includes other aspects, such as meditation to expand the soul. (Internship Editor: Shi Yixiong)
