Practicing yoga is more effective than taking supplements
It has become a broad consensus that prevention is better than treatment. For health, do yoga, take supplements, and do massage. Everything works, but which effect is better? In response, a survey by the National Center for Supplementary and Comprehensive Health Research found that long-term practice of yoga is healthier than eating dietary supplements and massage.
The study selected approximately 35,000 adults over the age of 18 who participated in the 2012 National Health Survey and evaluated the effectiveness of the complementary health measures they took: dietary supplements, yoga and spinal massage. The survey results found that 80% of people who practice yoga feel that their stress is reduced, 65% can maintain regular exercise, and nearly half eat healthier. These data are higher than the other two groups. In addition, most people who take supplements and practice yoga often do it to improve their overall physical fitness, while those who often do massage do it to treat certain diseases.
Dr. Josephine Bregg, director of the research center, pointed out that although practicing yoga is the most prominent in promoting health, those who take multiple health care methods at the same time will have better results if they combine the three health measures. In addition, the study also shows that maintaining a positive attitude and proactively choosing suitable fitness methods is more conducive to health.
