Islamic Story: Ishmael and Eid al-Adha
and abraham did not forget his son, but was concerned about him, and came to see him from time to time.
ishmael has grown up and is able to live and work independently.
one night abraham had a dream in which god had commanded him to kill his son ishmael for sacrifice.
the dreams of the prophets are true.
the visions must be fulfilled.
one blow followed the next and the disaster followed.
ibrahim had worked hard for most of his life; he was pleased that it was easy to get one in his later years.
then he was forced to throw his son and his mother into the barren land of no man, and only because of god saved their mother and their son from death.
my son has grown into a man, but he is killed and sacrificed.
ishmael is his only son, so let himself kill him and sacrifice him.
a man whose heart is stone cannot bear the pain.
after all, the prophet was a prophet, and abraham suffered from his steadfast faith in god, and he was determined to obey god's will.
so he came to his son and said to him, "my little son! god commanded me to kill you and sacrifice you in my dream.
do you not know if you will?” he told his son what he saw in his dream so that he could know that the sacrifice was god's will.
and he said, "father! do as you're told! if it were god's will, you would see me bear it.” benevolence to their parents is nobler, but obeying allah's will and obeying his arrangements.
in order to alleviate the pain of his father and make it easier for him to carry out god's will, ishmael said to him, “father! you tie me up so that i don't shake my clothes, or the blood will spill over, and the mother will be sad, and she will sharpen your knife, and you will see my throat, and you will kill me, so it will reduce my suffering.
give my regards to mother.
if you like, give her my clothes.
it's a son's memorial to her.
when she misses me, she will be comforted to see it and smell my scent from it.” abraham said to his son, “o son, it is good that you can help me fulfil the command of god.” says he holds his son in his arms and kisses more than that.
the father and the son cried.
and abraham tied his son's arms, and cast him down on the ground, then he took up a knife.
he looked at his son, weeping like rain, and groaning.
he cut the knife against his son's throat hard, but he could not cut it.
god had withdrawn his blade.
the son then said to the father: “father, put my face to the ground, or else you will see my face and have mercy, thereby preventing you from carrying out the command of god.” the father did what his son had to say, and he cut with a knife to the neck of ishmael, but he couldn't.
and abraham cried unto allah when he was overwhelmed.
and allah hath made known: o abraham! thou hast done as thou wast commanded in the dream.
thus do we reward all that is good.
“the father and the son were saved, and we thank god together.
since then, they have increased their faith in godDon't move.
Allah sacrificed a mighty sheep in the Garden to redeem Ishmael.
And the father and the son looked back and saw only one sheep by their side.
Abraham took the knife he had just used, cut it down on the neck of the sheep, and the sheep fell on the ground immediately, and blood spilled.
This sheep is Ishmael's double.
Since then, all Muslims have sacrificed their lives on this day every year to remember this and to thank God.
That's where Eid al-Adha came from。
