Yoga poses: Lotus pose
Step 1: Lay your legs straight and close together on the floor. Place palms down on the floor.
Step 2: Grab your right foot with your hand and place it on your left thigh, all the way to the groin. The extension of your feet should reach your hips.
Step 3: Grab your right knee with your right hand, while holding your right foot with your left hand.
Step 4: When your right foot is pressed tightly against your left thigh, grab your left foot with both hands. Place your left foot on top of your right thigh. The extension of your feet should reach your hips.
Step 5: You have now completed a complete lotus pose. You can make a meditative gesture with your hands.
Suggestion for beginners: learn to do half lotus pose first, and then slowly progress to full lotus pose. Practice this pose regularly for a time. When your feet are fully crossed, you can try walking with your palms.
