Don't get lost in your posture practice
In traditional Ashtang Yoga, the asana method is the third step. There are the rules of life in front of it, and there are four aspects of practice, including breathing method and mind-taking, before you can finally achieve "samadhi". Therefore, when practicing asana, don't think that practicing yoga is doing movements-asana.
Secondly, the practice of postures includes different forms and contents such as stretching, twisting, strength, balance, coordination, and handstand. Stretching-flexibility is just one of them, so don't think that practicing yoga is pulling ligaments, and don't think that a person with good flexibility is a master of yoga. Don't put all your time and effort into flexibility.
Another important point is that the classes in yoga clubs, such as Flow yoga, Power yoga, Hatha yoga, Ashtanga vinyasa, Iyengar yoga, Hot yoga, etc., are all different styles of asana practice."Asana is the same", Asana is the same, but the style of practice can be completely different. For example, calligraphy, although there are regular script, official script, running script, cursive script and other different ways of writing, but the Chinese characters are the same.
Another example is Taijiquan, although there are Chen style, Yang style, Sun style, Wu style and other schools, but "cloud hand","single whip" and other basic movements are the same, but some posture development, some compact, some fast, some slow.
Posture method is a carrier that allows us to achieve health and integration of body and mind. Therefore, just choose the style you like and stick to practice.
"All dharma are metaphors" and "All dharma are equal, there is no superiority". Don't get lost in the practice of postures. (Internship Editor: Wu Jinyu)
