Do you pay attention to your expression during yoga?
When practicing yoga, we often pay attention to whether our movements are in place and whether our attention is concentrated, but we often ignore our expressions. But don't underestimate your expression, it may affect the effectiveness of yoga practice.
Have you ever noticed what your expression looks like during yoga?
I have seen many Jia You, both in photos or in real people, with very good postures. Unexpectedly, their facial expressions are extremely tense. Maybe it achieves the purpose of exercising, but it deviates from the essence of relaxing our body and mind.
I am a first-hand experience myself. When doing a certain position, you pay too much attention to the position and body parts themselves, and ignore relaxation! Once, I accidentally discovered that I was practicing a certain position with my teeth clenched.
The tension in the body naturally reflects on our faces. Sometimes we subconsciously frown, grit our teeth, hold our breath, etc. However, these small movements not only cannot help us soothe our bodies and nerves, but will make our bodies more tense. The result is that the more I practice, the more tiring I get, and there is no improvement or relaxation.
We advocate relaxing throughout the entire yoga process (including meditation, pranayama, postures, etc.) so that you can fully devote yourself to the practice. Our facial expressions explain everything in our hearts.
Will you control your heart well? Will you become more and more relaxed?
Pay attention to your temples and teeth...
Next time you take a training photo of yourself, pay more attention to your expression!
Yoga is an exercise that can bring comprehensive relaxation to your body. Remember to relax when practicing. (Internship Editor: Wu Jinyu)
